Imaging and Solutions, Inc. (EIS), a woman-owned small business,
was established in August, 2000. Its co-founder, Mark Baird,
a certified Level Three infrared thermographer and registered
laser safety officer with the state of Texas, left a successful
career of 27 years with TXU Electric Company in April, 2001.
Mark was one of five Senior Equipment Analysts supporting 18
district offices in Texas, providing hands-on technical expertise
of EHV transformers and power circuit breakers. During his last
three years at TXU, he also performed inspections using laser
technology to detect emissions of sulfur hexafluoride gas (SF6)
within the TXU system. Since its inception, EIS has retained
clients such as ALSTOM T&D, United States Department of
Energy (Western Area Power Administration, Bonneville Power
Administration), Reliant Energy, and National Aeronautics and
Space Administration, among others.

• Laser inspected first magnesium producer in the US in 2001.
• Laser inspected first magnesium die caster in the US in
2002.
• Laser inspected first commercial power generator in the
US
for hydrogen leaks using SF6 as a tracer
in 2002.
